The project proposes a single-storey villa with a gross floor area of 200 m², featuring a very spacious south-facing living area (kitchen, dining room and lounge) opening onto the garden and swimming pool, a sleeping area overlooking Parc Brot, and a fitness room that could be converted into a doctor’s surgery with a separate entrance and toilet. A carport with a plant room and storage areas, as well as an outdoor swimming pool, complete the project.

The project develops the concept of a single-storey villa by incorporating the 200 m² of floor space under a large flat roof. A sense of grandeur emanates from the layout, as the spaces are arranged fluidly and offer views extending to over 18 m (diagonally across the entrance, dining room and living room). Thanks to its large bay windows, the house is very light-filled, and the connection between interior and exterior reinforces the sensation of a very large house, as the boundaries of the space are no longer defined by the house itself but by the plot.

The large roof, made of exposed concrete, rests on the monolithic façade walls of insulating bricks (terracotta and sheep’s wool), with a central core and two concrete slabs providing bracing at the centre of the floor plan, all set on a ground slab without a basement. This structurally simple design allows for a generous use of space whilst keeping costs under control.
