The existing building in this project is very typical: it is an office building from the 1960s, with two large open-plan floors, each with a core in the centre. This spatial configuration prefigures a very direct and clear organisation: on the upper floors, closed offices on the street side and open space offices on the courtyard side. On the ground floor, an exhibition gallery serving as a reception area and entrance for clients is located on the street side, while conference rooms face the courtyard.
The client's basic brief was very clear: to create open spaces for meeting and sharing, spaces that break down the usual codes of a trust, spaces of great spatial and material quality, spaces in which people feel good.
The choices of materials are also guided by this desire to break with codes: with the use of oak and Plexiglas for the partitions, parquet and travertine for the floors, fir and lino for the tables, a gentle balance of ‘noble’ and ‘raw’ materials is proposed here.
